CUT & SEW VS. SUBLIMATED T-SHIRTS

CUT & SEW VS. SUBLIMATED T-SHIRTS

In the world of custom T-shirts, two popular production methods stand out: Cut & Sew and Sublimation. Both techniques offer unique benefits, catering to different needs in terms of design, quality, and functionality. They are produced with the all-over printing technique, which allows the entire surface of the product to be covered – you can customize the front, back, and both sleeves with your designs.

What’s the difference?

The primary distinction between Sublimation and Cut & Sew T-shirts is that the former use pre-made T-shirts for printing, whereas Cut & Sew T-shirts have garments put together after your design is printed on the cloth.

Cut & Sew allows for precise customization and ensures designs align perfectly along seams and edges. Cut & Sew T-shirts are especially suited for complex prints and precise design placement requirements.

Sublimation involves printing designs directly onto pre-made white polyester T-shirts using a heat press. The sublimation process allows the ink to bond with the fibers of the fabric, resulting in a vibrant, long-lasting print that won’t crack or peel. Sublimation printed T-shirts have white streaks around the seams of the T-shirt, so you should use white or light colored T-shirts when printing.

Sublimated T-shirts are also generally more affordable, and the production time is faster than Cut & Sew T-shirts.

Why choose cut & sew T-shirts?

With all-over printing, you can create any T-shirt design you like and use your graphics to cover the full surface of the item.

Since the print is applied to the garment before sewing, you don’t need to worry about any white streaks appearing around the seams.

Whatever graphic or image you’re using, Cut and Sew allows you to place tiny design details accurately on the fabric.
